Kenyan Coffee Beans

Kenya’s coffee is celebrated from it intense brightness, complex acidity, winey notes, and rich berry/fruit flavours.Thriving in the fertile volcanic soils South of Mt. Kenya and west of the Great Rift Valley region thanks to the high altitude of about 1400-2000m creating the perfect environment for Arabica coffee. The high altitude slows cherry maturation, allowing for complex flavors to develop.

Kenya's coffee identity is deeply rooted in the washed process, where the cherry's flesh is removed and the beans are thoroughly washed, resulting in clean, vibrant flavors with bright acidity. For years, this method was a legal requirement for coffee exports, helping Kenya build its reputation for exceptional coffee with distinct, predictable flavor profiles.

Washed coffees from Kenya tend to have a lighter mouthfeel with floral to fruity flavors and a crisp, balanced taste. They serve as the foundation of Kenya’s coffee culture, inspiring both tradition and innovation in coffee processing.

Ethiopian Coffee

Ethiopia, often regarded as the birthplace of coffee, has a rich and diverse coffee-growing environment. The country’s unique combination of altitude, climate, and fertile soil creates ideal conditions for coffee cultivation. Coffee is grown in various regions, such as Sidamo and Yirgacheffe.

Ethiopia's coffee culture is deeply woven into the fabric of its history. With a tradition of smallholder farming, Ethiopian coffees are often grown in small, family-owned plots, where the focus is on quality and local knowledge. This, along with the country's wide variety of heirloom coffee varieties, makes Ethiopian coffee some of the most unique and sought-after in the world.
